CARPETS

Made in collaboration with Neytt

Since the beginning of my artistic practice, I have been deeply drawn to the symbolism and materiality of carpets. I started my journey by creating conceptual mini wall carpets, where I explored the idea of grounding, heritage, and storytelling through textile. Over time, this initial exploration evolved into a deeper desire to return to my roots and create a complete carpet collection that embodies my cultural and spiritual inspirations. Carpets have always held a profound meaning for me—growing up Palestinian, they were more than just decorative objects; they symbolized home, identity, and a tangible link to history. Like the Islamic garden, carpets are grounded yet transcendent; they root us to the earth while inviting a reflection on the spiritual and the infinite. This connection between land, spirit, and tradition inspired me to create my first carpet collection, Reverie Woven and Infinite Garden—pieces that weave together my personal heritage with the universal longing for paradise, continuity, and belonging.
